Valentine's Heart Letter Match

Updated: Feb 6

My newly four-year-old began asking for Valentine's Day decorations the day after Christmas. What can I say, the girl loves a holiday. I held her off until New Year's, and now that we're days away from the month of love, I am fully obliging her love of pink and hearts and all things glitter. We're gearing up for two weeks of themed activities, sensory bins, and books, culminating in our traditional Valentine's Day brunch complete with heart-shaped pancakes and sprinkles.

Both of my children have been showing an increased interest letters and identifying them. With this in mind, I wanted to add in a Valentine's activity that capitalizes on this interest, and in particular, help with pairing uppercase letters to their corresponding lowercase mate.

With design approval from my daughter, we created this heart letter matching game. I printed it out on regular printer paper and then laminated the pieces for extra durability. [As a side note, my laminator may be the single best purchase that I made this past year!]

So far it has been given a stamp of approval by my little ones, with both of them circling back to this activity several times over the last couple days. I've included the PDF file below if you're interested in using it in your own home or classroom. If you do this activity with your kids, please share how it goes!

Happy Love Month <3
